Add go karting and virtual reality games to the list of entertainment options at Mall of America. India-based entertainment company SMAAASH is opening its first U.S. gaming center at the mall on Dec. 14. The 40,000 square foot space on the fourth level, east side will feature a multi-level go kart track, more than 30 gaming experiences, as well as a bar and restaurant that promise a locally sourced and sustainable menu and 40 types of craft beer from local breweries.

SMAASH has gaming centers throughout India and is an international player in the world of virtual reality gaming—conceptualizing and creating games that are currently used in 10 countries around the world. The games coming to MOA include “Walk the Plank,” where guests, wearing a virtual reality headset, feel like they are walking a 500-foot high plank, sports simulators to test skills in hockey, basketball, and football, and a soccer game called “Super Keeper,” where players have the opportunity to win a premium brand motorcycle if they can beat the goalkeeper five times. The company says the triple “A” in its name will stand for "America’s Adrenaline Arena." They may need to come up with a different catchphrase for additional openings planned in Dubai and Europe.
