As you will see, the 206 Cup is returning to 3 of the facilities that it visited last year. Dousman WI, Shawano WI and Norway IL will again host rounds of the 206 Cup in 2016. We are also excited to announce a brand new track to our series, Delmar IA's 61 Kartway as well as our return to track that hosted the first ever 206 Cup race; Elkhart Lake's Road America Motorplex. All 5 tracks will be hosting optional friday practices as well the day before our races.

Sadly, this means that our series will not be returning to Eau Claire's track operated by Midwest Karting Association. We'd like to thank MKA for their hospitality in 2015. Their club did an outstanding job of preparing the facility and operating the race day activities. We at 206 Cup have decided that one of the most important things we can do to grow karting is to bring more attention to the 206 engine package. To do this, we have decided that we will annually try to add a different track to our schedule that is already supporting 206 racing at their club level.

Two new classes have been added to 2016 line up. This season will now feature a 206 Senior Heavy class and a 206 Masters class. Both classes will race at 390 lbs, and Masters will have an age restriction of 40 years of age or older. Additionally, last year's 206 Senior class will now be known as 206 Senior Medium and will race at 350 pounds.

The decision has also been made to discontinue the Animal Sportsman and Junior classes. Sadly, there was simply not enough support in these classes last year, and from what we have been able to determine that would not have significantly changed in 2016. The Animal Senior class has been retained with the age limit being slightly reduced to 14 years old or older.

We have been working on our revisions to the 2016 rule book for the last 3 months. Although we are not ready to let the cat out of the bag in regards to what specific changes there will be; let me reassure everybody that the changes should not exclude anybody that was complaint with our rules last season. The purpose of these changes is to make the rule book even easier to understand and to further increase the level of competitiveness we saw across the various chassis types our series features.
