One of the most important parts of running a successful karting event is having a great staff. Although we are extremely pleased with all of our crew from the 2015 season, we felt we needed to step up our game even more. One of our main priorities for ourselves before 2016 was to add even more experience to our crew, specifically an experienced Race Director.

Although we talked to as many people as we could, we always had one specific person in mind for the job, Glenn Firing. Both through personal experience and professional references; we knew he had the integrity and sense of fairness we wanted our race director to have.  I am happy to say that he has graciously accepted our offer to join the series in 2016. Glenn is excited to be working with our program because he likes the 206 package and what it means to karting and it's families. He  understands the vision we have for the 206 Cup and will help us to improve in all aspects of running the race day to help us achieve that vision..

Glenn has been apart of karting for well over 20 years and in many different capacities. Most recently, Glen has served as the Race Director of the United States Pro Kart Series since it's inception. He also race directed many other regional and national events including the ROK Cup, Heartland Dirt Series, Pavement oval series, the Easy Kart Grand Nationals and Gold Cup. Drawing from these experiences as well as Glenn's career as a Pennsylvania Highway Patrol Officer (ret.), we feel he is the best person we could have hoped for.

Steve Vermeer who served as our Race Director in 2015 will be rejoining Josh Schiffler in the tech area, so we can further ramp up our technical inspections as well as speed up the process of end-of-day tech. Steve did an excellent job at his first time race directing, but we are excited to get him back in the tech area where he excels.

We ask all of our racers and their families to make Glenn feel welcome. It's going to be a great year for the Briggs and Stratton 206 Cup!
